Repair Services
Compared to performing a repair in a drydock, underwater repairs will save significant amounts of repair cost with minimal downtime! Every underwater repair is unique but we will tailor a solution that will satisfy your requirement!
Rope Guard Installation
The vessel have a twin screw propeller which comes with 2 rope guards. Both rope guards were badly corroded to a point where part of the structure have already melted away. New rope guards and rope cutters were fabricated and installed using underwater air lift bags then secured by bolts with seizing wires. The job was completed in a day which saved the vessel owner much time and money instead of going to a dry dock.
Propeller Grinding
Due to a grounding incident, part of the vessel's propeller blade was broken off. A thorough inspection was performed for the entire propulsion unit and fortunately there wasn't any cracks propagating from the damage. As the vessel is going directly to a dry dock for repairs, we were instructed to round the edges to prevent any cracks from forming during the journey.
Transducer Change Out
We work together with external contractors to change out transducers underwater while they are managing the operations inside the vessel. Our state of the art underwater diving equipment allow us to maintain close communications with the contractors for precise coordination to ensure a smooth and successful operation without the need to go to a dry dock.
Sealing of Leakage
The vessel had a big leak coming from the bottom of the hull. A hole was detected and a wooden plug was first installed to reduce the seawater ingress. After reducing the seawater ingress to a minimal, a cofferdam was installed onto the ship's hull and covered with underwater epoxy as a temporary measure for the ship to safely reach the dry dock for repairs.
Blanking & Plugging
Our client wanted to perform a scheduled maintenance on board to change out some of their gate valves. We were in charge of installing the plugs and blanks at the respective places to temporary stop water ingress so that the crew can safely change the valves internally. This is one of the many successful repairs that our diving team have performed for vessels without the need to go to a dry dock!
Cofferdam Installation on Scrubber
Scrubbers are used to remove harmful components from the exhaust gases generated from the engine's combustion. These gases are very corrosive on metal therefore a special paint coating has to be applied over to protect the metal. We have been engaged to blank off the scrubber pipe so that it remains dry internally to allow the pipe to be repainted. Due to the additional structure outside the scrubber, we had to use a cofferdam to blank off the entire block. This is another underwater repair that we have successfully completed without having the vessel to go to a dry dock!
